Donuts at Night travels into the mind of night-shift baker, Frank Brown. Part mediation on the meaning of life, part ode to sweet pastry, the film is a humble look at the times when we feel "stuck". Filmed on location in Missoula, Montana, Donuts at Night channels some common hardships of the stalwart western worker; perhaps In another time and place Frank Brown might wear a suit and tie, be a success, but here mountains he's taken a pay cut..
Created as part of an MFA in Media Arts at the University of Montana-Missoula, Donuts at Night has screened around the U.S. at festivals such as the Kansas City Film Festival, Twin Cities Underground, Rawstock Film Festival, D.C. Asian Pacific American Film Festival, Eastern Oregon Film Festival, and Hatch.
